On January 6th, 2024, the Guangdong Province Rare Earth High Quality Development Forum was held in Xinfeng County, Shaoguan. More than 100 industry representatives from both inside and outside the province gathered together to discuss opportunities, achievements, confidence, and development under the theme of "Technology and Green Empowerment".
Zheng Weiping, Secretary of the Xinfeng County Party Committee, stated that in recent years, Xinfeng County has focused on the construction of a national green mining development demonstration zone, scientifically planned the construction of a rare earth industry park according to the "four zones and one center" industrial layout, and focused on attracting the upstream and downstream industries of rare earths such as magnetic materials, luminescent materials, and rare earth alloys to gather. At present, we have obtained a rare earth mining certificate and borrowed advanced green mining methods to achieve maximum resource utilization and environmental protection in rare earth development. We look forward to the participation of experts to brainstorm and contribute their wisdom, so that Xinfeng can become a typical case of exploring the value of resource assets and achieving sustainable development in implementing the "Hundred and Ten Million Project" for county-level economic development. Duan Debing, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President and Secretary General of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, pointed out that more attention should be paid to the leading role of demand driven supply, and the development level of the entire industry chain should be accelerated through demand driven development. To leverage the strong advantage of talent gathering, we need to increase the innovation of mechanisms for attracting, nurturing, aggregating, and using materials in various links of the system industry chain and supply chain. We must always adhere to the concept of green development and orderly promote the green and efficient development of system resources. We should give full play to the bridge and track role of local industry associations, integrate resources, and maximize the promotion of high-quality industrial development. Xie Zhihong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd., emphasized the need to promote stronger resource guarantee for strategic integration, optimize industrial structure, expand industrial layout, unite collaborative innovation and cooperation, unite domestic and foreign advantageous scientific research forces, and accelerate the development and innovation capabilities and technological level of key core technologies in the system to a new level. Wang Ruhai, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Guangsheng Holding Group Co., Ltd., stated that in the future, we will accelerate the optimization of industrial structure adjustment and focus on specializing in the deep non-ferrous metal industry. While ensuring the protection of mineral resources in Guangdong, we will use active rare earth policies, focus on intelligent and service-oriented development, integrate multiple resources, and contribute to the development of the rare earth industry in the province and even the whole country. Subsequently, the attendees jointly watched the investment promotion and promotion videos of Xinfeng County's rare earth industry. Zhang Xigang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangsheng Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., introduced the development situation and measures of the rare earth industry. In the keynote speech, Huang Xiaowei, an academician of the CAE Member, introduced the development status of the rare earth industry, the new progress of the green and efficient extraction and separation technology of ion ores, and the key development directions and prospects, with the title of New Progress of Green and Efficient Extraction and Separation Technology of Ion Minerals. Zhang Jianghua, Party Branch Secretary and General Manager of Deqing Xingbang Rare Earth New Materials Co., Ltd., and Party Branch Secretary and Executive Director of Qingyuan Jiahe Rare Metals Co., Ltd., introduced the digital project of Deqing Xingbang. After the forum, attendees also visited the Guangzhou Automobile Testing Field project, Dongxin Food Industrial Park, Wanyang Zhongchuang City and other project sites for inspection.
